How do I award my players badges?

Badges are offered via Credly, the leading open platform for digital badges and credentials.

Badges on Rise  allow you to award badges based on performance either in terms of rank or scores to your players. For every release, when a player meets a badge criterion, an email notification (from Credly) is sent to the player awarding them the badge. These badges can then be highlighted on many different social media network profiles such as Rise, LinkedIn and shared on social network streams such as Facebook and Twitter.

You can also award badges manually by sending them in bulk via the Badges menu, found under the Releases menu.

Badges can be awarded for:
  • achieving a certain rank on a leaderboard
  • achieving a certain score on a leaderboard
  • achieving a certain score on any metric on a leaderboard
Depending on your player source for your board you can either send badges via Twitter (using a personalised Credly claim code) or via Email.

To send out badges to your players via email you will need to:
  1. Create a Credly account.
  2. Create a badge on Credly
  3. Add the badge to your leaderboard and set the eligibility criteria
  4. Decide whether to send the badge automatically with each release or manually

To send out badges to your players via twitter you will need to:
  1. Create a Credly account.
  2. Create a badge on Credly
  3. Set the badge as claimable by anyone with a claim code
  4. Add the badge to your leaderboard and set the eligibility distribution criteria
  5. Preview and tweet out the badge claim code to your players [note that you cannot send bulk tweets to players automatically as per twitter rules]
Some demonstration screenshots of this in action are provided below:
